This Privacy Policy explains how Couple Connect ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Couple Connect mobile application and related services during private beta and beyond.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information such as email address and profile details.
• Content you provide, including messages, answers, memories, plans, and game activity.
• Analytics data, such as app feature interactions, screen views, and engagement metrics.
• Technical information including device identifiers and push notification tokens.
• Optional data you choose to share, such as location and uploaded media.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide app features and sync shared couple data.
• To send notifications triggered by in-app actions.
• To improve reliability, security, and product experience.
• To provide customer support and respond to requests.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers needed to operate the app (for example, hosting, database, notification infrastructure, and analytics providers such as Amplitude).

Third-party services & analytics

We use third-party services to provide and improve the product. These include:

• Supabase : database, auth, and storage for account data, messages, media, and app state.
• Amplitude : product analytics and event tracking. We send anonymized event metadata and a user identifier; we do not send private message contents.
• TMDB : movie and TV metadata and artwork for content discovery; only search queries and selected metadata are sent. Images and metadata are used under TMDB's API terms and attribution requirements.
• Apple / iTunes : music metadata and artwork used for autofill in ratings; we use Apple's iTunes Search API for track/artist metadata.

Session replay and debugging tools

We may use session replay and debugging tools to diagnose issues and improve UX. Session replay captures interactions and non-sensitive UI state; we aim to redact personal data and provide an opt-out in Settings. If you do not want session replay data collected for your account, contact support.

Copyright & Takedown

Some content in the app (movie posters, metadata, music artwork) is provided by third-party services such as TMDB and the iTunes Search API. We use this content under the providers' API terms and do not host or redistribute full copyrighted media files. If you believe your copyright-protected work appears in the app without authorization, please contact us at support@getcoupleconnect.app with a description and proof of ownership.

AI-generated content

The app uses on-device AI models to generate suggestions and ideas. AI-generated content may be incorrect. Do not rely on AI outputs for safety-critical or factual decisions; verify information independently. AI processing is performed on the device and we do not send your private messages to third-party model providers.

Widgets & location

Widgets share limited content from the app via App Groups (for example pinned items, names, images, and optional location coordinates). Location data is only used if you enable it and can be disabled in device settings.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active or as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations. You can request account deletion through in-app settings where available.

5. Your Choices

• You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
• You can manage optional permissions such as location access.
• You can request deletion or correction of account data.

6. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we continuously work to improve protections.

7. Children

Couple Connect is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by a revised "Last updated" date.
